15 winning business online marketing strategies

Whatever industry you are in or size of your business, you need an online strategy to promote your products or services and to meet the needs of your customers. That is not always easy– and many businesses struggle to get started. So here are 15 things you can do to get you started now to your road to online success:
1. Launch Pay Per Click (PPC) Campaigns
There is no better strategy for receiving high traffic volumes from people who are interested in your products than launching a PPC account. There are many platforms to choose from but Google Adwords is by far the best with the highest search volumes. It has the most features too and you can link it to analytics for outstanding reporting.
2. Create a blog
Adding a blog to your site and blogging regularly has many benefits including promoting your products, engaging your visitors, increasing organic traffic, positioning yourself as an expert and many others. Search engines like Google also favour sites that are updated regularly and will visit your site and blog more often to index your new pages.
You should aim to blog one post a day if possible or at least 3 times a week. At that rate, you will have an authority blog in no time.
3. Optimise your website for SEO
To achieve high rankings on Google, Bing and Yahoo, you should optimise your site for the keywords you want to rank for. Include them in your title tags, meta tags and in your page content including your images. Also, get some links that point to your site and include your keywords in the anchor text.
4. Make your site responsive
Your website should be optimised for mobile too, especially if your users access via smartphones – because Google now penalises sites that aren’t mobile responsive. WordPress for example has plugins to make your site mobile responsive and you can download these for free.
5. Create an ebook
If you offer professional services where people rely on your expertise, then an ebook is a great way to position yourself as an expert and increase your client base.
Many businesses can benefit from creating ebooks and you can submit yours to Kindle too and give it away on your website free and capture emails at the same time.
Creating an ebook is easy and you can combine your best articles and blogs for example into a 10,000 ebook that you can give away free or sell for a small price.
6. Capture emails on your website
Setup a newsletter box for people to signup to on your website. You will be amazed how that could lead to greater profitability when you market to a list that has shown a lot of interest in what you have to offer.
There are many free and low priced email programs to help you with this, including Mailchimp and Aweber and setting up your lists and campaigns is easy.
7. Run some Twitter Ads
Twitter like Facebook now has a Paid Ads platform. You can promote your website for a low Cost Per Click rate. So you only pay when people click through to your landing pages. It has a simplified interface that is not as complex as PPC platforms such as Google Adwords.
8. Engage on LinkedIn
If you have a LinkedIn presence, then you should use it to connect with people that are important to what you do (your target audiences). Use it to create a community, like and share articles and highlight your expertise and experience.
9. Setup Web Analytics
My favourite web analytics solution is Google Analytics because it is free for the vast majority of users and it has a huge list of tools to track, measure, manage, and improve your digital marketing strategy.
It has goal tracking tools that allow you to track all your traffic sources and not just Google Adwords.
10. Setup Google Search Console
Google Search Console is the new name for Webmaster tools and this tool you cannot do without. It helps you keep track of your rankings, keyword targeting, traffic volumes, crawl stats, Google penalties, website errors, sitemaps, sitelinks, backlinks and anything to do with your website that could help you achieve your goals.
11. Setup Google My Business
A Google My Business account is perfect for local businesses that want to appear in the search results and on Google Maps for keyword searches. It’s also ideal for getting customer reviews which are displayed under your listing and enhance your business (if they are positive).
However, Google My Business is important for a wide range of businesses and it gives you greater presence on Google and with your Google+ account you can connect with your customers and fans and improve your search rankings too.
12. Connect with other bloggers
Find other bloggers in your niche who are interested in connecting with you and welcome guest posting. This will help to increase your authority and brand awareness and you will get more visitors to your website from people who trust and believe in what you have to say. And it helps to increase your backlinks and leads to higher search rankings too.

Always test your PPC ads to ensure you are promoting the benefits that your target audience is interested in. You can test absolutely anything including offers, discounts, price, features, benefits, calls to action, coupons, Dynamic Keyword Insertion and much more.
For each ad group, you should have at least 2 ads so that you can run some split tests and then choose the best performing ones.
15. Add goal tracking
In Google Analytics, you can track just about any action that takes place on your website including events that don’t lead to a page view. You can track sales, downloads, contacts, signups, registrations, likes and much more. And you will then have important metrics like conversion rate, cost per conversion and number of conversions to measure your online campaigns.
