9 Free Digital Marketing Tools To Boost Your Online Campaigns

Are you struggling to find free digital marketing tools to take your business to the next level? If you are, then check out the list below, of tools I’ve found to be effective at website promotion, reporting, tracking and researching for online campaigns.
There are thousands of digital marketing tools of course, however the list I’ve included here is for some of the most popular and most effective tools and I’m sure you will benefit greatly. Here goes:

1. Mailchimp

This is one of the best free digital marketing tools you will find for email marketing. It has a free basic version that has all the features you need to run successful email campaigns and segment your subscribers into different lists. However, for a small monthly fee you will have more features as your list grows into the thousand.

2. Youtube

With millions of hours of video plays on YouTube every day, it’s no wonder that it is now the second largest search engine in the world. And many businesses and individuals are reaping the benefits of this free tool that you can use as part of your digital marketing strategy.

So if you have a product, a brand or service that you want to promote, then video is a viable option and you can create a channel on YouTube that fans and customers can subscribe to.

3. Analytics

This is another Google tool and one that your business cannot do without. It’s easy to implement and free and you will have detailed reports that inform your online marketing strategy.

Some common metrics you should keep an eye on in Google Analytics and create KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for, include average time on site, bounce rates, goal conversions and many more.

4. Survey monkey

To gain a competitive advantage on the web, you need to know your customers’ needs and wants. That’s often difficult and there are few tools that help you do that effectively, however Survey Monkey is a tool that will work wonders for your online strategy. You can create surveys in minutes and email them to your customers or place a link on your website.

It has a free basic version that is sufficient for the vast majority of business users. If you are a small business you are unlikely to need the more advanced packages.

5. Google Keyword Planner Tool

Don’t start any PPC campaigns without first using the Keyword Planner in Adwords. Adwords is not free of course and you pay for clicks to your website on Google Ads, however, they offer many free tools and the keyword planner is one of them. Unfortunately, it is not standalone like its predecessor the Keyword Suggestion Tool.

One of the features I like in this tool is how it groups keywords into ad groups that you can add to your campaigns easily.

6. Google Search Console

Webmaster tools has now changed name to Google Search Console and there have been many new updates to the interface. One of the benefits of this tool is that you can see organic searches for your keywords and also see where you rank. The reports are delayed by a few days, but the insight is great, especially considering the ‘not provided’ changes for keyword searches in Google Analytics reports.

7. Google Alerts

Keeping up with all the mentions of your brand or products on the web is difficult without a notification filter like Google Alerts. You can use it to keep up with latest trends in your industry and news and setup keyword alerts with match types too. Your alerts will be emailed to you as they happen and you can set this to daily or weekly emails.

8. Google Trends

Use this tool to find out what is trending on Google and keep up with industry news. It shows you how often a particular term is searched for across various regions of the world, relative to total search volumes and you can compare the volume of terms for two or more search terms.

9. ManageFlitter

Last but not least is one of my favourite social media tools for managing follows, unfollows, tweets, messages and so on. It’s the perfect tool for automating many of the time-consuming updates that you need to make in your Twitter account, like removing spammers. It’s free but as your Twitter account grows you may want to pay a very small fee for actions like Follows and Unfollows which are handled manually by their team.
