Ad Groups

Ad groups contain one or several ads which all share a similar target. As a business owner running the campaign, you need to set an appropriate price or bid. This is then used whenever the keywords of the ad groups trigger your ad to be shown. That is known as a CPC or cost per click bid. It’s also possible to set bids for specific keywords within each ad group. You can use ad groups to organise your Google ads by common themes. Those themes could be the kinds of services or products you’d like to advertise.

While ad groups can make your Google Ads campaign more organised and effective, they aren’t always easy to understand. If you’ve never run a Google Ads campaign before, you may find them complicated to set up. It takes about 2-3 working days to set up a new campaign, whether that is SearchDisplayRemarketing or Video. However, Shopping campaigns take longer to set up because there are different tools and features to set up. Also, Shopping ads take longer in the initial review when you first set up a feed in Google Merchant Centre. That usually takes up to 3 working days, and in total you can expect the whole set up of a Shopping campaign to take between 7-10 working days.
