Marketing for Transport Business: 6 Digital Marketing Tips To Get Started

Marketing for your transport business is important if you are looking to get more customers. This helps you to target your specific audiences with digital marketing resources with the platforms and tools you’ve chosen.

Doing some research will be important to find out what strategy to follow. And there are tools that can help you with that, which I describe below.

Follow the six tips I’ve listed below to help you get started with a digital marketing strategy for your transport company. Whether, you’re a courier, delivery, logistics or other type of business, this will help you target your audiences effectively.

1. Invest in Google Ads

Google Ads marketing for your transport business will help you to easily target your audiences online. You’ll be able to run ads on the Google search engine and its partner websites.

And there are different campaign types that you can run. The most ideal for your transport business is a Search campaign because you can use keywords and text ads to target people who are actively searching.

Also, consider creating a Remarketing campaign on the Display network to retarget people who’ve been on your website before.

2. Review your landing pages

Your landing pages are where you send visitors from your advertising campaigns, like those in Google Ads. You can either use pages that are on your website or you can use stand-alone pages to direct your traffic to.

For a transport company looking to get enquiries and leads, using landing pages on your website is much better. Many visitors want to view other pages too like your About page, or FAQs, so it’s important to allow them to see this when they get to your website.

A tool that will help you to review your landing pages is PageSpeed by Google. It tests your loading page times for both mobile and desktop visitors. And it will provide recommendations to improve your pages and speed and how to fix any errors.

3. Conduct market research online

Effective marketing for your transport business should include carrying out competitor research. This will help you to see what other transport businesses in your industry are doing with their marketing strategies and you can implement the best tactics for you.

A platform I recommend to carry out competitor research is SERanking. It has a Competitor tool that you can use to see what ads and keywords other transport companies have in their Google Ads campaigns.

And the best part is you can see how much they are paying on average for each search query. And that also includes seeing how much they spend per month on average in their PPC campaigns.

4. Target people who are searching

As mentioned above, setting up a Google Ads account helps you to target people and businesses who are looking for your services on Google. This is possible with a Search campaign and doing keyword research will help you to find search queries that your potential audience uses.

And when you’ve chosen the keywords you want, you can start creating the ad groups to match the keywords with the right text ads.

5. Track your enquiries and leads

Next, you should track enquiries and leads that your business is getting. This includes all calls and form submissions and any other way that your customers contact you.

In Google Ads you can set up conversion tracking to track your calls and form submissions. And you can do that on the Conversions page in Tools & Settings in the top right section of your account.

6. Hire a PPC consultant

A PPC consultant will help you to set up and manage effective Google Ads marketing campaigns for your transport company. They will conduct research into your competitors and the keywords that you should be bidding on.

But first make sure you check their credentials and that they have experience working with other transport businesses. If they have reviews and case studies that will help you to see the results they’ve been able to achieve.

And being a Google Partner is also a good sign that they have a lot of experience.
